So what does all this 1 and 5 points mean? Where the dickens does one se which amount of points one receives for what (answer/question)?

I don't understand. is there a list of who gets what for what answer or question? if yes, where? I always open the website and go to Alerts, and then to Categories and I answer questions, or post a few. What does all this point talk mean? What is its purpose ?

Answer:
1) Points and levels are part of the fun on Answerbag. "What are points on Answerbag? Points are a way for people who submit good questions and answers to be recognized by the Answerbag community. This means the best questions and answers as rated by other Answerbaggers-whether they're interesting, useful, funny, or some combination thereof-are promoted to the top of the results list. Here's how points work: - Each "Like" on a question or answer yields 1 point. - Each approved "flag" yields 1 point. - Each answer marked as "great" by Staff, Moderators or Community Leaders yields 5 points. For more on the points system, and to take a peek at a Great Answer, check out How does Answerbag's new system for points and levels work?. What are levels on Answerbag? When you hit certain numbers of points, you advance in level. It's easy to level up at first, but it gets harder each time, so give as many good answers as you can to level up quickly. When you make it to higher levels, your badge and title may change. When you hit certain numbers of points, you advance in level. The number of "Likes" that have been given to a question or answer are displayed at the side of the "Like" link fpor that question or answer. For instance: - Like (3 people like this.) - Like (shunyata likes this.) - Like (You and 3 people like this.) Notice that the name of the person giving the "Like" is only displayed at that place as long as there is only one "Like" - except it it was "you". In your feedback list, you get notifications of every "Like" that you get, with the name of the giver (there are no special notifications for Asker's Picks or Great Answers).
