  • I was at the movie theaters, with my cousin, who came to visit from out of town. We were waiting for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" to start, and my cousin was messing around with the internet on his cell phone, and told my sister and I that he had died. I thought he was joking at first, but then, he showed us the article. And what do you know!!! It's a little funny, because I made a lot of Micheal Jackson jokes before he died, but now he was dead. So, for 15 minutes or so, before the movie started we were just kind of sitting there, making jokes...I know it sounds bad. But it still didn't settle in that he was dead. So, we went at our usually making fun of Micheal Jackson routine lolz

    I learned about it on answerbag. I do my best to avoid celebrity "news." What I know I learn about here. My first reaction was that this is unexpected. My next reaction was to facepalm as I predicted the endless flood of questions about his death, how great MJ was, how bad MJ was. I quickly learned to be able to set my mental filter to eliminate anything mentioning him.

Seven A.M. of that morning. I went downstairs, turned on the T.V. and it was switched to some news channel that no one in my house watches. I kept looking for a few minutes in total shock at the spectacle before me. I had to watch for a half hour before I convinced myself I wasn't being bullshitted. Then I ran upstairs and shouted it to my still sleeping sister. The news was enough to get me not sacked at waking her up.

At my moms. I had not been into town in three or four months and we always have catch up stories that start out with "Guess what"!? We were on my moms lower deck outside and my husband ran outside and yelled "OMG Michael Jackson is dead!" We both said "ok you won" and laughed it off. At that time he said no I swear to you it is all over the news. I was sooooooooooo sad. I always felt sorry for him. I hope he has peace now.
