I don't know about the worms, but my brother gives his two cats a bath with flee shampoo once a week. They love it! They both have been getting baths since they were kittens. I doubt it would work with a full grown cat that has never had a bath, you may have a fight on your hands. The youngest cat loves to play in water, even their water bowl (not so good cause it makes a mess). When she hears the water running she goes in and trys to play with it. They also love iced water from a glass. I have a film of them drinking. It's so cute.
