I can't find a job! I want to give up and accept I'm going to work as a waitress for the rest of my life...what shound I do??
-
I graduated college 3 years ago with a degree in communications. Since then I've been a waitress full-time. I work part-time on a radio station street team and part-time organizing shows at a local music venue (all about 15 hours a month) I've sent out at LEAST 300 applications since I graduated and have only been on about 10 interviews. I can't even get a call back for a job for an entry level receptionist or a filing clerk...really? I want to work in the music industry and I can't even get a job filing papers! I want to move out of my city but that's also difficult without a job lined up...any advice?!

Answer:
You might have to do volunteer work for a major company as an intern. Make some friends there and see if they can get you a spot somewhere. It's about making connections. I almost got into communications until I realized it's hard to keep a job and stay in one place. Be prepared to move around a lot. If you don't like the idea of that, then it might be time to pursue a new career choice.

you have a job, so you should be more grateful than so UNgrateful , but a college education today gets you no where near what they thought it would today......thats what separates common sense from college educated idiots, they elevate themselves as better and expect better but they are very disappointed and prideful .....i have plenty of college friends working and grateful , jobs, that have nothing to do with their college education, but they have accepted their mistake , moved on and doing WELL......... there are waitressing jobs in every city......day cares, radio jobs, clerks, etc..... just put in there and hope for the best, but try to stop 'holding your breath' and be able to accept it if not.....the best...

Go back to school and take the classes that will get you a job this time.

well first, wtf is communications. you need to know specifically what you want to do. a job in the music industry could be anything. find a passion and pursue it or of course youll be a waitress forever.
