I'm thinking of becoming a professional truck driver. What does this job involve? What's it like? Comments? Advice?

I'm almost 21 and currently I live in Europe.I'm doing a BA degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice over in England, I'm a year away from finishing it, with the right qualifications I'll probably go for an MA in a different field of study (business maybe?), but recently I've been having thoughts of becoming a truck driver.I went to college/university because I wanted to join the military/police, but now I'm not really into that anymore (like most students with their degrees I want to go into something completely different - surprise, surprise lol). It's tough to get a job, especially one that PAYS, and it seems to me like the job of a trucker is quite different and unique and the pay is pretty decent, but more importantly truckers get hired and are needed!!!... or so I think.I could save up my money from doing this in order to boost my CV or better yet open up my own business before i hit the age of 30. What do you think? I just want to hear your opinions, especially if you are a truck driver yourself :) What's it like and what does this job involve? I have no kids, no wife, no gf, and I've been seeing my parents who live in Poland about once every three months ever since I moved out to England for univeristy 2 years ago (I just recently moved back to Poland for the summer between my 2nd and 3rd years of study).I have an American driver's license back from when we used to live in the States, but I'm pretty sure I wanna stay in Europe for now so with the summer ahead of me I'm gonna do my licence over again in Poland along with additional ones should I still want to be a trucker. In the States its a CDL, but I'm staying here in Poland for the summer so from what I read I need a category B licence for cars in order to do a category C licence for trucks under 750 kg, and a category E for trucks over 750 kg (18 wheelers would fit into that) would be a good move if I want to be a more qualified driver. Also I would need to do a course which involves transport services.

Answer:
I just came back from being on the road with a trucker. He seemed to be stressed at times. But, he had his truck set up pretty good with a microwave, tv, computer, grill, woman to keep him happy :). He said that he liked his job and wants to buy his own truck. Yep, they do make a lot of money. I have seen some of their checks.
