How to check on guest satisfaction in Restaurant or Hotel?

do you fill out guest satisfaction surveys when you stay at a hotel?

  • did you know how huge an effect your survey has on the well being of the hotel and the continued employment of it's staff? each month the survey scores are added and the average score is what is given to the hotel that month if only 4 people return surveys and 3 of them are bad due to anything from just having a bad day to whining about something beyond the hotels ability to control like the weather or a trafic jam in front of the parking garage entrance, the hotel's guest score will be dangerously low even though 99% of that months guest had a great stay, because they didn't return their servey the hotel maybe loses its flag (the right to the franchise name) or management and or employees lose their jobs

    Oh, I didn't know that! Opseee! (as my daughter would say). Well, I normally don't fill them out...who has the time for all that jazz! My life is too crazy! I would probably only fill one out if I had a big problem....and I would be complaining...so that wouldn't be a good thing...ha ha! In the future, I will take that into consideration.

I had heard that the surveys were taken seriously by some hotels, but I had no idea that they held such great power as this. To be honest, what I've generally done is let my relative level of being in a rush/having lots of lag time determine whether I did the survey or not in most cases. If I need something to fill a few minutes, I have done the survey, but if I am in a rush, I haven't made doing them a priority.
