What does it take to be an accountant?

  • I may want to pursue this as a career - This means I would have to go back to college. If you can describe it yourself or point me to a website which lists the classes I need I would greatly appreciate it! What I would like to know: 1)What is the employment outlook in Southern California for someone with an accounting degree? (associates vs. bachelors) 2) What character traits might make a successful accountant? 3)Can you list the classes required for an accounting degree? 4) Do employers prefer applicants who attended a university, private/trade school or just a local Community college? Does it matter?
