4th July fireworks, Denver?

Isnt banning fireworks on the 4th of July or banning smoking in bars and cigar shops like having a birthday without cake??

  • ones not complete without the other. Many years ago just like yourself we would get boxes full of fireworks for the 4th of July. No one got injured. No houses or cars were set on fires. It was our way on celebrating America's birthday. I mean a 4th of July without fireworks is like having a birthday without cake. They banned them basically cause when the laws here weren't as tough as they are now, you hear every year how some kid blew his fingers off from a firecracker. Or some car was on fire from a firework that mishapped and now some idiot has to ruin it foreveryone. Here in NY I hate that in other states people have the choice to buy fireworks and have the option of going to a bar where there is smoking or not. Its like having a birthday without cake or Christmas without presents. It sucks. Why dont the people who dont like fireworks just dont buy them or the those who dont like the smokey bars dont go to one or go to a smokefree bar and leave those that do like it alone. I dont like when people complaining have to use the government to force those who enjoy their lifestyle to be taken away.

The federal government has no business involving itself in issues like these. As I understand it, more than half the population, doesn't want smoke around. So a state government can reasonably debate banning smoking in places of necessity like grocery stores and bus stops. But in optional establishments like restaurants and bars, I would even be uncomfortable with states telling businesses what they can and can't do. It's a fine line right there in my opinion. I think the bar owner should be allowed to make the decision if he wants his patrons to be allowed to smoke or not. But, that's just my opinion, and it's an issue laid to rest. So that's that.

It's because are nation is built on guidence. If no one tells us what to do with it or imposes on it or makes a law about it we feel lost as a nation. Kinda contradictory since we point fingers at the russians and chinese as being communists and look down on them or fear them.
