Which engine is better in drag racing?

Are the Engine Blocks used in drag racing cars OLD blocks Or new ones?

  That all depends on the racing team. If you're talking about top fuel dragsters and funny cars, they pretty much change their whole engines right down to the block after every few races. They also have the money to back their racing team and have really good sponsors who help out paying the bill. But for a smaller team, maybe a small business owner who uses his own two hands to build his car along with a few close friends, he would probably start with the original stock engine, while building a backup engine on the side with a used block. It all depends on what the team can afford. A diehard racer will use whatever he can find and race it, while someone who is patient will save up and build somwthing that will hold up a little better.
