How do you clear media player classic history?

How to Clean a Media Player History

  • Answer:

As the default multimedia player for Windows-based PCs, Windows Media Player is compatible with a variety of video formats. WMP keeps a list of the videos (history) you have opened. If you share your PC with other people, you might wish to delete your media player history or prevent the program from compiling a history log. Difficulty: Easy Instructions Windows Media Player 9 or 10 Open Windows Media Player and click "Tools" and then "Options." Click on the "Privacy" tab. Click the "Clear History" option and then click "Clear CD/DVD" (WMP 9) or "Clear Caches" (WMP 10). Uncheck the "Save file and URL history in the Player" box, if you want to prevent the program from saving history in the future. Windows Media Player 11 Open Windows Media Player and click the arrow under "Now Playing." Click "More Options" and then the "Privacy" tab. Click "Clear History" and "Clear Caches." Uncheck the "Save file and URL history in the Player" box and click "Apply" if you want to prevent the program from saving history in the future. Click "OK." Tips & Warnings Tip: New movie files will continue to be saved in the history unless you clear the "Save file and URL history in the Player" check box in the WMP options menu.
