How serious is nasal polyp removal surgery?

How long after vocal cord polyp removal surgery will your voice return?

  • Answer:

My Speaking voice returned right after surgery, literally...Initially I was very apprehensive about doing the surgery but my voice continued to become worse. Harder to speak than to sing. I saw three different doctors here in town (Las Vegas) and was worried I would never be able to sing or speak again. Finally, I met a doctor who referred me to a Laryngologist not an (Ent) I did as much research as I possibly could and met with Doctor Gerald Berke chief of staff at UCLA..... I was fortunate that I was only 4 hours away... He did the surgery, and had I known him sooner I would have gotten it done... Was it scary? of course, but after having it done the procedure wasn't that big a deal. I was told not to sing for approximately 1 month after surgery and watch my diet I have acid reflux.... My speaking voice is a bit deeper but I can sing again thank you doctor Berke.... Don't wait, do something now... Find a Great Laryngologist, ......J
