How to verify my email on MSN?

How to Verify Your Email Address on MSN

  • Answer:

In order to use the MSN or Windows Live instant messaging programs you must have a Windows Live ID. You can use a Hotmail or MSN email account as your Windows Live ID. However, you can also use any other email address that you currently own. In order to use an email address that is not affiliated with MSN or Hotmail, you must take an extra step in verifying your email address. The verification process is simple. If you don't complete the process, you will not be able to use your unique email address with the instant messaging programs. Difficulty: Easy Things You'll Need Proof of identity Instructions Log into the email address that you used to sign up for the Windows Live ID account. Open the "Inbox" of your email account. Look for an email message that is from "Windows Live Team." The email subject will read, "Confirm Your Email Address For Windows Live ID." If you do not see this message in your "Inbox" check your "Spam" or "Junk Mail" folder to see if the message was routed there instead. If you are still unable to locate the email, you can request that another email be sent. To request another message be sent, simply log into the Windows Live ID website using the email address that you signed up with. You will see a message at the top of the window that says "Your Email Address Has Not Been Verified." Click the link labeled "Verify Your Email Address." Click the "Send Email" button. The email verification message will then be resent to your email address. Double-Click on the message from the "Windows Live Team" to open it. Read through the email until you locate the section that is labeled "Confirm Account." In the confirm account section, you will see a link to click on to confirm the account. If you are unable to click on the link, simply copy & paste the link into the address bar of your Internet browser. Click the "Continue" button that is located in the email address confirmation window. You can then sign into the Windows Live ID website with your confirmed email address.
