The address of the recipient consists of the 10-digit mobile phone number, followed by the text domain name of the recipient's service provider. Text Via Yahoo Messenger If you do not know the service provider of the recipient, you may use Yahoo Messenger and your existing Yahoo User ID to send a text message. Yahoo Messenger is free to download and is compatible with mobile service provided by Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Alltel. Cost Sending a text message through Yahoo mail or Yahoo Messenger is free to the sender. Recipients will be billed applicable text messaging fees by their cell phone service provider.
