If your dog is used to wearing a harness (or is easy-going), you should have no problem. My french bulldog gamely wore it all night and didn't seem to even notice it. The plastic of the actual horseman wasn't the greatest. The paint job was rather poor and part of the cape was peeling off from the neck.
