When you install the latest version of Windows Live Messenger, it automatically detects you have an older version, removes the old version and upgrades it. You upgrade Windows Live Messenger just as if you were to download it fresh. Difficulty: Easy Instructions Open your Web browser and navigate to the MSN homepage. Click "Messenger" at the top. Click the "Download Now" button. Run the installer program. Select any other programs you want to install in addition to your new version of Messenger. This includes Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Toolbar, Writer and Family Safety programs. Click "Next" after you have made your selections. Wait for your new Messenger to install. Choose your settings. You can have Bing set as your search provider or you can set MSN as your homepage. Click "Continue" when you are done. Click "Close" on the last screen.
