What is energy conservation?

What different between the law of conservation of mechanical energy and the universal law of conservation of energy?

  • Answer:

Unless I really missed something along the way, energy is energy, and it's always conserved (that is, it doesn't get lost). I have no idea who told you that the "conservation of mechanical energy" and "the universal law of conservation of energy" are different things, but I'd get away from them if I were you. If you can't do that, then ask this person to show you the mathematical difference. (There isn't one.)
