How do you bypass the stock amp in a 1996 ford explorer?

Where is the amp on a 1996 ford explorer 4x4 New stereo installed works but no sound comes out any of the speakers.We think its the amp. New stereo has an amp. Have to find the existing amp. Help?

  I had this problem when i hooked up my aftermarket head unit to make sure the amp ground is tied in there cause if its not then it will turn on but not play music. But the amp is under the right panel. you have to pop off the little plastic rivets in order to do this. Its rather easy to do really. One thing make sure you put them back by starting at the front and workin your way back or it will screw up. I belive it is in the rear under rear cargo area. also check the side panels in the rear... Good LUCK
