Why does your stomach hurt after drinking cold water?

Why would your stomach hurt after drinking water?

  • Answer:

I was diagnosed with acid reflux, or GERD, about two years ago. When I have a bad flare up, typically lasting a few weeks, anything and everything I put into my stomach hurts, and water tends to be the worst. Since I never really felt acid reflux in my chest or throat, I had no idea that the reason I felt so sick to my stomach all the time was indeed stomach acid. I've tried Prilosec, which doesn't work very well, and Aciphex, which clears it up within a couple of days. But overall, I have found reducing stress and exercising to be the best medicine (once you can be active again!) for preventing future recurrences of stomach upset. I'd check into acid reduction. if you drink too much it will fill your shomate faster than food because your shotmate has stonce acid in it and it so liquids fell it faster
