  It depends by what you mean when you say 'how do you get the item you want'. If you mean 'how do you trade', then it's simple. You can see the person you are trading with's inventory opposite your own. If you see something in their inventory that you'd like, click on it and it will go down to the bargaining section in the middle, where you have three spaces, because you can only trade three items of their's at a time. So once you have chosen all the stuff you want, you offer them a price for it, either buy offering them items of your own or by offering them money- you can do this by clicking on the money section on the bottom of the bargaining area and scrolling down the options of bearbills you want to add to the trade. If you think you deserve more bearbills in the trade, select bearbills from their side, or if you want to contribute your money to it, select bearbills from your side. Once you are happy with your offer, click the OK button in the middle which is a tick. Then it's the other person's turn to decide if they're happy with everything. If they are, they won't touch anything and they'll just click the OK button too, in which case a little box will come up on the screen showing you everything that's being traded and just asking one more time if you're happy with it, and if you are then click OK and the trade is complete. If they're not happy with it, you have to wait until they produce their own offer and until you both agree on a trade between yourselves. If you mean when you say 'how do you get the item you want' by 'how do I get the person I am trading with to agree to a trade if I really really want something of theirs' then that's another story. I recommend offering them an outrageously good offer- for instance, offering them 2 thousand bearbills for something if you want it so bad; they won't be able to refuse.
