Narrow down the number of potential schools. Examine each program to which you apply to determine whether or not its curriculum will be able to meet your educational needs and career goals. Once you have been accepted to one or more programs, decide which program is best for you. Things to consider include cost, length of the program, program reputation and areas of specialization offered. Some online MBA programs offer only general business management concentrations, while other will allow you to pursue studies in areas like marketing or accounting. Register for classes and begin your coursework. Download the syllabus for each class you are taking. Most MBA programs will only allow you to take nine to 12 credit hours each semester, so you will be preparing for three to four courses at a time. Carefully examine each set of assignments given by your professors. Make a list of assignments with the dates they are due. Determine how many days or weeks you can devote to each assignment, and develop a schedule to keep yourself on track. Divide your textbook reading into manageable chunks of time. For instance, if you have three chapters to read in the first month and together the three chapters are 100 pages long, you should read a minimum of three to four pages per day to ensure that you have completed the readings on time. Allow yourself time between your final page of reading and any exams over the material. This will allow you to study beforehand. Takes notes on all of your reading. If you are only reading a few pages per day per class, this will help you retain the material and prepare you for exams. Cross-reference your textbook and professor's materials with other online open courseware. Open courseware is free study material provided by some schools that is designed to enrich their own students' education as well as that of other students who utilize it as they wish. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology provides one of the most extensive online business libraries for open courseware materials.
