Does a misdemeanor come up on a background check?

A misdemeanor charge did not come up in the search on Lexis-Nexus should I mention it on an employer's background check authorization form?

The employer will go to the state maintained database and conduct their search, which may, or may not, disclose anything. If you are curious what a criminal history background check of YOUR record will reveal, simply to to your local law enforcement agency and request a copy of your own criminal history record. It will only cost you a small administrative fee, and will show you exactly what anyone else would find out about you.
