What is the difference between harmony and melody?

  • Answer:

okay, I've been trying to figure this out also. I believe this is the answer: A MELODY is basically the lead singer of a song. you know the one who sings the most or gets the most attention. the HARMONY is like the "back-up" singers. BUT the HARMONY has to sing in a tune either LOWER or HIGHER than the Melody in order for it to be called a harmony. If a song has a Harmony in it, you'll be able to tell because the singers actually make it known that there are more than one person singing instead of them all singing in one tune. It took me a while to figure this out so i hope i made since to you.
