How do you disconnect the security system on a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am?

PULL OFF THE RADIO & AIR CONDITIONER COVER BY PRYING FROM THE BOTTOM AND PULLINGTHE WHOLE COVER OFF GENTLY. YOU WILL SEE MANY COLORED WIRES BEHIND THE RADIO.GRAB THE YELLOW ONE IF NOT WRAPPED IN TAPE, AND WITH FLASH LIGHT FOLLOW IT TO SEE IF ITIS ATTACHED TO THE IGNITION SWITCH. IF YES START ENGINE, WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING CUT THE YELLOW WIRE ANDCAP THE ENDS SONO SHORTS CAN HAPPEN.THIS IS HOW I DID IT AND ALL IS WELL SO FAR.PUT IN A OFF & ON SWITCH TO THE 2 ENDS THAT ARE CAPPED. LEAVE IT ON OFF, EXCEPT WHEN CHANGEING A BATTERY, THEN SWITCH TO ON WHEN STARTING FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WHEN RUNNING SWITCH TO OFF AGAIN AND LEAVE IT AS IT WAS BEFOR. I HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU, AS IT DID FOR ME. GOOD LUCK
