Middle Schools There are two middle schools in Lehigh Acres, serving youth in grades six through eight: Lehigh Acres Middle School and Varsity Lakes Middle School. Lehigh Acres Middle features an after-school program which provides student supervision until 6 p.m. High Schools Lehigh Acres contains two high schools, serving youth in grades nine through twelve: East Lee County High School and Lehigh Senior High School. East Lee County High, where school hours are 7:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., offers athletic and vocational opportunities, including career academies, which introduce students to various professional fields. Lehigh Senior High, which runs from 7:10 a.m. to 2:05 p.m., has a strong focus on athletics as well as an arts center. Both schools accommodate approximately 1,500 students. Alternative Schools Lehigh Acres also contains two alternative schools. Veterans Park Academy for the Arts teaches artistic and academic subjects to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. It has a total enrollment of approximately 1,400 and requires uniforms. Lee Alternative Charter High School is a small school with two daily sessions: a morning session from 8:16 a.m. to 2:04 p.m., and an afternoon session from 2:06 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is affiliated with the Milburn Schools group.
