When its down its a night mare. Sounds like your problem is with the compressor. It is not releasing air as it is supposed to. There is a check valve in the compressor, and when it is over limit, it will release pressure. Also, while you are at it. Check the rear adjuster, and make sure it is in place and not damaged. Theres more, but I believe this should cover whats wrong for now. Check your air springs ( bags ) also. If you think that you will spend a lot of money for the repair, then check out the conversion kit available. Go to " strutmasters " they have what you need. Its not the end of the world to go to coil springs, but I tell you, It will save you lots of problems a lots of $$$$$$$...By the way, the switch in the trunk is just to turn on and off the system, when jacking up the rear.
