Answer:
Sonographers generally do a 3yr(England) or 4yr (Scotland) Bachelors degree in Diagnostic Radiography first (BSc), then choose to specialise in Ultrasound after gaining some general Radiology experience. You then do a 2 year part time Masters degree whilst working in an ultrasound department which covers both the Uni and practical parts of the course. This gives you the qualification of PgDip in Medical Ultrasound. This is what all employers now expect.
