Is there any way to connect a laptop to a Comcast cable box?

My laptop has an HDMI port. Does this mean I can connect my cable box to my laptop and receive tv channels?

I would like to watch tv on my laptop. It has an HDMI connector. I'm trying to find out if I need to purchase something additonal to get tv on my laptop, or if I simply need to connect it to a cable box/receiver I currently have via the HDMI cable in order to view tv programs.

Laptop have an output hdmi port, that means you cannot connect another hdmi output device to it and recieve media. However you can connect your laptop to a tv or video dvd player to tv. You might be looking for a TV tuner card inorder to view TV on the laptop.
