  When referring to "craft felt" most people mean acrylic felt this is composed of plastic pelets which are then melted to form a faux felt, real felt can only be made of natural fibers. Pool table felt is higher quality and is usually a wool or wool rayon blend and is very thin. It must be ordered by the bolt and is usually very expensive, if you are looking to buy some I would suggest contacting New York Felt and expect to pay around $20 a yard or more. In recent years crafters have been using better quality felts similar to pool table felt, If your looking for a higher quality crafting felt similar to pool table felt I would suggest www.feltandcraft.com they have a ton of colors and you can expect to pay around .75 for 9x 12 wool blend sheets, they also have 100% wool sheets but I don't remember the cost of those.
