Will a college and How can a college find out you attended another school if you did not include it in your application and you did not get any financial aid?

Look. Be frank about this and answer the actual questions. I don't want to hear about integrity or the law or that it is "REQUIRED," ok? Just answer me: Will they find out and if you say "Yes" or "absolutely," tell me WHY it is "absolutely" going to be discovered and HOW. A bunch of people are going to start referencing financial aid will give me away. I did not receive ANY aid and did not apply for any. It was one failed semester at community college in Michigan. I don't want to put it on my application into a State school. Some people are talking about http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/ as a tool for schools to find out. Well....Whats the REAL DEAL with this? Can a school find me in this database if they DO NOT KNOW the name of the school i went to?
