What supplies are best for realistic drawings?

Excuse me I am being serious I am having art lessons and I am having trouble drawing people can you give me some drawing tips to make my drawings look realistic?

  well< i am taking an art class also. my art teacher always tells us to remember negative space. like do you know the ipod commercials? well that is negative space. you draw the space around the figure. not the actual figure. and you need to remember scale. and remember shading and tinting. and go from light to dark in the creases. good luck! If you are having trouble drawing people, you might want to look at a number of different books that look at drawing specific parts of the human body. Check out a series of books called Practical Art Books. The books examine how to draw specific parts of the human body so you can perfect your technique. Hands are especially difficult to get right. By focusing on one part of the body at a time, you can gain confidence in your skills, and also, not take on too much at a time. Once you have mastered specifics, you can pull it all together and draw a complete human body. Don't stress yourself too much by trying to draw a complete human. It is a lot more difficult than it appears.
