Would Chevy volt partially or completely pay for itself over time Or more than Toyota prius or Camry If I wanted to get it as my first car in future considering high gas prices?

Answer:
No. It won't. If you buy cars solely based on the numbers, buy a stripped down Prius, Honda Fit, Chevy Cruze, or other budget car. If you buy cars based on how fun they are to drive, then buy a Volt. The car drives just as well as the German cars I've owned, with the added bonus of not having to stop for gas as much.
