What European cities do you recommend to visit and spend Christmas for 5-7 days

Vienna is wonderful at Christmas. There are all the usual markets and festive food etc, however Vienna is an experience in itself. The people are lovely and welcoming. It is very cold but that just adds to the ambience, and it did snow whilst we were there. See the various museums, choirs and other cultural treats, or just visit the many bars and restaurants. We had a wonderful time :)
