Professional cameras still just take still photos; there is no video capability on most of them. Examples: A wedding photographer. Now, *some* digital cameras can take still pictures and short videos. A camcorder preceded the video camera. The first ones were large and bulky, difficult to keep still and level, so the outcome was choppy. Most people refer to these now simply as a video cameras. The video camera today comes in many sizes and weights, and take clearer video images than before. The professional videographer may be able to use a low-end, low-cost video camera but many invest in higher priced units.
