What kind of training does a nursing assistant have to go through?

  • Answer:

The requirements are usually the following: 72 hours or more [Depending on state] of field work as a nursing assistant at a nursing home. Certified in CPR and First Aid [When I got certified I took the NA course through my school, usually to take the class to get your certificate you must pay a heafty fee that is non-refundable. Classes will provide in their course these courses that you MUST pass] You must have a certain amount of hours of classroom done Tests that will be given cannot be a lower grade than 70% You must do a certain number of hours at the field learning about other medical professions [most are provided also in the classroom] There are two test you have to take, both are usually around either around the 140$ to 160$ range which you must pay for upfront stat before you take the test, this money must also be forwarded in a cashiers check for safety reasons and usually the hundred or so bucks should cover both tests. The two tests are Oral and Written, its quite easy but I highly recommend studying hard for it. These are only a few of the major requirements.
