What is the difference between germ and virus?

What is the main difference between a virus and a germ?

  • Answer:

The main difference is that a virus is smaller than a cell. It is composed of a self replicating string of RNA and invades the cell and alters the DNA within it to manufacture copies of itself. A germ, or bacteria, is of a similar size to that of a cell and exudes toxins which can poison the body. Antibiotics kill bacteria and anti-virals attempt to kill viruses but since they are in every cell it could cause every cell to be killed in order to get rid of the virus.
