    Microsoft Windows Mobile, when regularly synced with Outlook, will display Outlook categories as long as data exists in the category. For example, if a task is created in Outlook and then synced to the mobile device, the category “Tasks” will appear on the device. The problem occurs when there is no longer data in the category. The category header still shows up on the mobile device. In this case, the category is deleted from the Outlook interface on the syncing computer. When the device is synced after the category is deleted in Outlook, the category will also be deleted from the mobile device. Difficulty: Moderately Easy Instructions Click “Start,” and click “Email” to open the Outlook client on the computer. Click “Edit” from the top navigation bar, and select “Categorize.” Click “Categories.” Check the check box in front of the categories to be deleted, and click the “Delete” button. Cradle the mobile device to connect to the computer, or connect the mobile device using the USB connector or Bluetooth. ActiveSync will launch when the device is detected. Click “Sync” to perform a sync for the Outlook settings change. Unplug the mobile device, or remove the device from the cradle. The unwanted categories are now removed in Windows Mobile.
