How to be a deep sea diver?

How does a certified deep sea diver with 5 years experience in North Africa relocate and find a job in the USA?

  • Answer:

I have no idea when you asked the question or if you'll ever come back ... However, since you were asking about a job as a diver ... A quick search on Google produced a short list of vacancies at www.halcrow.com/html/careers/region_usa.htm www.diversjobs.com might also be worth watching. They also recommended another site - www.scubaprof.com .... There are no jobs listed there, but it is an active forum of divers, so someone there might be able to help you. www.adc-int.org is the website for the Association of Diving Contractors International, and looks as though it should provide some useful information. As for relocating to the USA, well that's a whole different issue. This is the link to the US official visa information site ... www.unitedstatesvisas.gov/obtainingvisa/index.html ... It's very difficult to move to and/or work in the USA ... legally at least ... without having an American company or citizen sponsor you for a suitable visa. Having said that, it's quite possible that certified deep sea divers are in short supply in the US, which might make getting a work visa easier. You will probably have to find a job first and then persuade the prospective employer to sponsor you for either a temporary or permanent work visa. Good luck anyway!
