How can I cure a urinary tract infection?

How long does it take a urinary tract infection to show up and is there any way you can cure it without going to the doctor?

  Everyone is different and usually there are signs within a few days of burning or a slight pulling sensation just below your naval to the upper part of your pubic bone. NO! Do not treat this on your own!!! Go to your doctor and he will take a urine sample. If you are tested positive for a urinary tract infection he will put you on a bout of antibiotics. If you don't seek this help during an infection you could be in serious trouble. If the antibiotics only work for a certain time and you get another infection your doctor may have you go in as an "out patient" and check out the tubes to your urinary tract and sometimes one of the tubes is very narrow and thus an infection is easily formed. If this is the case the surgery (under light anesthetic) and it's minor and you shouldn't have any or only a very few infections after this. Try eating yogurt a couple of times a day as this can help. Stay away from too many sweets or yeast products. This will help a whole lot. Good luck Marcy
