How to Make Invitations for Girl Scouts

Answer:
The Girl Scouts is an organization for young girls. Although you probably associate the Girl Scouts with their famous cookies, they are about so much more. The girls belong to troops and they take part in different activities such as different community service programs, arts and crafts, as well as adventurous activities such as hiking and rock climbing. The program teaches the girls about the world. If you want to plan a Girl Scout party or event, you will need invitations to let the guests know the details. Instead of purchasing generic, pre-made invitations, you can create your own for little time and money. Difficulty: Easy Things You'll Need Cookie cutters Heavy card stock Scissors Edging scissors Markers Stickers Envelops Photographs Girl Scout cookie boxes Girl Scout cookies Copier Instructions Method One Choose a cookie cutter or several cookie cutter shapes that represent a recent or upcoming Girl Scout activity. For example, if you recently learned camping techniques, use a tent shape. Or if you are planning to help a crisis shelter gather or make clothing in a few weeks, choose a shirt-shaped cutter. Trace the shape of your chosen cookie cutter onto pieces of heavy card stock. Cut the shapes out using scissors. If you are using smaller cutter shapes, do not cut them out. Instead trim the edges of the paper with edging scissors. Edging scissors are scissors used to add decorative edges to paper and can be found at craft stores in the scrapbooking section. Decorate the front side of the cutter with markers or stickers. Write your party information on the back of the cutouts. Place the invitations in envelops and mail them. Method Two Take a photograph of the entire troop or individual pictures of the different troop members. Have the images printed. You can either print them yourself on photo paper at home or you can use a photo service, such as one at your local drug store. Most locations have instant or one-hour printing that is inexpensive for individual prints. You will need one print per guest. Write the invitation information on the back of the printed picture and mail them as you would postcards. Method Three Empty boxes of Girl Scout cookies. Use scissors to cut the front of the box out. The front would be the side with the printed image of the cookies. Write your invitation on the blank side of the cutout. Mail your invitations like a postcard or insert them into envelops. Method Four Place different types of Girl Scout cookies on a color photo copier. If you do not have access to color copier, you can use a black and white copier. Copy the cookies and print them onto heavy card stock paper. Cut the images into postcard-size pieces. Write your party information on the back and mail them like postcards.
