What are some scary sleepover games?

How to Plan Scary Sleepover Games

  • Answer:

If you are planning to host a sleepover party at your home, you may need to find games for the children to play. Scary games can be fun if the children are old enough to understand that the games are fake. Play these games with children that are preteens or teens. Do not play these games with young children. Children younger than 10 may become too afraid and need to go home during the night. Difficulty: Easy Things You'll Need 5 large bowls Cooked cold spaghetti 2 peeled grapes 2 rounded cheese sticks Unpopped popcorn Silk from corn on the cob Paper and pencil for each child Computer printer Printer paper Items for a scavenger hunt End prize for guests to share Instructions The Body Parts Game Set the game up before the party begins. Place each food item--cold spaghetti (brains), 2 peeled grapes(eyes), cheese sticks (fingers), handful of unpopped popcorn (teeth) and the silk from an ear of corn (hair)--into a separate bowl. Sit down with the children and tell them a story about how you have body parts in the other room. You can make up something about the local university lending you these body parts for the party. Try to get them to believe what you are saying. Place a blindfold over each child, and walk them into the room with the bowls. Have each child place their hands in each bowl and feel the object. Tell them what each object is suppose to be. Remove the blindfold from the child when they have left the room with the body parts. Let the group of kids know that they were not touching body parts, but food items. Give them a piece of paper and pencil. Ask each child to write down what he thought the objects really were. Give a prize to the child who guesses the most food items correctly. Scary Scavenger Hunt Decide on appropriate spots in your home or yard to hide clues. Print out the clues on your home computer printer. Write each clue so it leads to a scary or gross item. Do things such as make the child place his hand in a plastic bag full of fake blood to retrieve the next clue. Other ideas are hiding clues on fake bats or in green gelatin that contains fake spiders. The clues should lead to a treasure at the end for all the guests to share. You can place the night's dinner at the end or a chest full of candy and snacks. Tips & Warnings Warning: Never force a child to play a scary game at a sleepover party.
