On sims 3 how do you download things from the exchange when i try do go on the sims 3 website and download things the sims 3 thing pops up and it isn't there?

Did you remember to install them? The little launcher where they download has an install button at the bottom and you have to check the box next to the file name and hit install for it to appear in-game.
