How do you send email through Microsoft Works?

My PC Microsoft word isn't compatible with my Mac Microsoft Word whenever i send it via email and try to open documents from my PC word on my Mac Word it never Works?

  Microsoft is constantly reworking their formats causing compatibility problems between the various versions of their software. Office 2007 was particularly problematical. Microsoft has released converter software to assist in sharing documents. They say: Open XML Converter allows you to convert Open XML files that were created in Office 2008 for Mac or Office 2007 for Windows so that you can open, edit, and save them in earlier versions of Office for Mac. This update contains several improvements to enhance stability and performance. See links below. An alternative approach would be to choose an alternative format when saving the document to be shared which both versions of Word can use.
