How do people know where hiccups come from I have looked up online where hiccups come from and found an answer. I thought no one knows where hiccups come from?

A hiccup or hiccough is a myoclonus of the diaphragm that repeats several times per minute. In humans, the abrupt rush of air into the lungs causes the vocal cords to close, creating a "hic" sound. It's basic medical stuff.
