  I have removed many door panels but not from a VW golf, however, they all seem to come off about the same. First, remove the ground battery cable, then look for screws around and under the armrest/door pulls, and remove them. Next, remove door handles either equipped with clips or torx screws. (A small flat screw driver came be used to get the clips off or most auto part stores have the removal tools.) Make sure you have all retaining screws removed by pulling gentley arround the perimeter of the door and as you do, you should be able to start popping off the plastic retaining clips which may need a little help from the screwdriver as a gentle pry bar. I assume it may have power windows and locks so as you pull way the panel unhook the wire connectors. The vapor barrier can be removed by carefully pulling it away; it may have a reusable adhesive so lay it where it won't curl up on itself.....1930fcoupe
