How do I record video output from a computer for a usability test lab?
-
I'm trying to design a simple lab for software usability testing. I want to record the video output from a computer. Is there a good, cheap hardware recorder device I could use? What will I need to edit that video? I'd rather not rely on software installed on the test machine. Each session will be about 30-60 minutes of 1024 x 768 60Hz video on a VGA/D-Sub connector and mono audio from a microphone.

Answer:
Well, there is something out there, but it's a bit expensive: http://www.epiphan.com/products/recording/?PHPSESSID=ktmqm1eu4as2hifk7l57e4a1n4 Enjoy :-) Probably needs to be moved to another StackExchange though, not programming related. Fraps would be my recommendation if you went with a software option..cheap and easy.
