How to change alternator on 2001 civic?

How do you change the alternator on a 2001 Kia Sephia?

  • Answer:

To replace the alternator The alternator is located behind the head of the engine on the passenger side of the vehicle. There are 3 bolts that will have to be loosen or removed so the alternator can be removed too. Also the electrical wires will need to be removed. There should be at least 2 of them. One snaps or pulls off and the other can be loosen with a 10 mm wrench of socket. You'll need a 12 mm socket or wrench and a 14 mm wrench or socket to get to the bolts. Once that is acquired, the alternator should come right off. You'll need to go under the vehicle to gain access to the bottom bolt of the alternator. Replace the new one in reverse order.
