  There is usually one and the same answer to those questions 'Why did XXX become an artist?' Because they felt they had the talent and the urge. It is as simple as that! hmm i only partly agree to that. Arp was also a poet and drew his inspiration from his poetry, natural and organic forms, other artists and serendipitous moments. for instance, he was the one who had started employing the method of "Laws of Chance". This came to be after he had tried to make a collage and he couldn't get the forms to how he liked them. so in frustration, he ripped them up and threw them. When he came back, the form that landed together struck him to be moving.
