How would I get to New York from Philadelphia on a train?

How do you get from Philadelphia to New York City by train?

  • Answer:

Amtrak trains run multiple times a day between Penn Station in New York City and the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. See the Related Link below for the Amtrak homepage. In the "From" box, you will need to type in PHL for the 30th Street Station in Philly. In the "To" box, type in NYP for Penn Station in New York. You can buy your tickets online from the Amtrak website, and either have them mailed to you, or pick them up at the station from one of the ticketing kiosks. You supposedly need a government-issued ID to board the train, but no one has ever asked to see my ID, and I've traveled on Amtrak about a dozen times in the last five years. But if you have one, it's probably a good idea to bring it, just in case.
