What is a link wheel? How does it work?

Where is the link between a jeeps 4-wheel drive and 2-wheel drive so that i can reconnect it so that it does not slip in and out of 4-wheel drive while it is in two wheel drive?

  • Answer:

have you check your transfer case fluid, you could have ran it dry and damaged the components. if you want to adjust the lever, it is located on the driver side right above the skidplate. I had this problem on my '88 xj 242 t-case. I got a new detent spring that was a little longer. In fact it was too long so I used a bench grinder and shortened it to the right firmness. This should cause the t-case to stay put.
