Types of advertisement?

Types of Internet Advertisement

  • Answer:

Internet advertising comes in many forms. People and businesses often use a wide range of creative ways to entice you to visit their sites, or buy a product or service. The Internet has broadened the ability for people to earn money for their ideas and has expanded the way businesses work. Advertising online is the same as in the real world: You have to know who your client is, the demographics you need to reach and how you will attain those goals. Pop-Up Ads A pop-up ad is a banner that it appears automatically on the screen once a person visits a website. Unless the end user has the settings on their computer set to block these types of ads, these cannot be closed until you click on the "close" button placed on the ad. Most websites charge a premium price for this service because it gets visitors' attention immediately. The ads are linked directly to the website of the advertiser. It can also be a downfall for site owners because most visitors do not appreciate those types of ads and may not visit as much in the future. Video Commercial For the company that can afford it, a video commercial can be produced to reach a targeted market. This form of advertising is most effective in a 15-second or 30-second format. The ad is quick, to the point and presents the message the client is trying to convey. Many of these files are in a mpeg format, with some in movie format. The file is sent on a disk to the website operator, who then uploads the ad. Another way to load is through File Transfer Protocol (FTP). These video commercials are highly effective and help present the product or service in a more professional manner. Banner Ads Banner ads often consist of a computer-generated graphic that has had text or images embedded onto it, along with a hyperlink to the website. These ads are created in various sizes based on the website owner's choice of positioning. The standard ad size is 468 pixels by 60 pixels (468x60), and others come in 125x125, 240x120 and 120x60 sizes. Banner ads are created in any size the operator requires. These ads are made to look like regular advertising pieces but are more colorful and often animated. The website owner sets the pricing for the banner ads. Text Links Text links are by far the easiest forms of advertising on the Internet. A person simply types a string of words together to make an ad. They then highlight the words and add a link to his website by installing the hyperlink into the text. The link then should light up or become blue. Place the cursor over the linked words and you will see that the website address pops up, and if you click it, you are then sent to that website. Text links are the most affordable form of advertising and usually a cost-effective measure for operators on a low advertising budget.
